SSI FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR COURSE

During the FITC(Freediving Instructor Training Course) you will gain the knowledge and practical skills to effectively teach freediving – maybe it will be just your friends, or maybe it will become the beginning of a new life adventure that will take you to the farthest corners of the world, where you will meet dozens of new friends sharing the same passion as you!

During the FITC (REEDIVING INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE):
– You will become familiar with SSI teaching materials and methods for their effective presentation
– You will possess the competence to teach both theory and practical skills in the water
– You will learn the most common mistakes and problems that arise when teaching students
– You will gain knowledge of other aspects related to running freediving training such as legal issues, marketing or business policy

Upon its successful completion, the candidate is certified as an SSI Freediving Instructor Level 1, which entitles him to conduct training and programs:
– Freediver
– Try Freediving
– Basic Freediving
– Pool Freediver

Prerequisites (for attending the course):
– Completed 18 years of age
– Possession of an SSI Advanced Freediver certificate (or higher) or its equivalent from another SSI-recognized organization
– Possession of a certificate of completion of the SSI Training Techniques course.
– Logged at least 100 dive sessions
– Certificate signed by a doctor that there are no contraindications to freediving no older than 2 years back counted to the date of completion of the FITC

Additional requirements for certification as an instructor:
– First aid certificate, not older than 2 years back counted to the date of completion of FITC *.
– Oxygen Provider Certificate, not older than 2 years back counted to the date of completion of FITC *.
– Public liability insurance for diving instructor
*These two certifications can be obtained in one SSI React Right course.


WATER FITNESS EVALUATION TEST required:
– 800 meters on the surface with fins, mask and snorkel in 15 minutes or 400 meters on the surface without fins in 15 minutes
– Water tread (staying upright on the surface of the water without using fins or a wetsuit) for 15 minutes

Required freediving skills:
– CWT dive to a depth of 30 meters (or 5×20 meters with 1 minute rest breaks)
– Diving to 15 meters with waiting for an unknown time for a surfacing freediver, then blackout rescue from that depth
– Endurance test: 5 dives to 15 meters with 1 minute rest breaks (not required if 5x20m was done)
– Blackout rescue from 15 meters with towing for 50 meters
– Dynamics (in double fins) 60 meters
– Statics: 3:00 minimum

Fees paid directly to SSI (not included in the course price):
– 144 EURO net (L1 digital instructor kit – 93700619 Freediving Instructor Kit)
– 100 EURO net (one-time SSI activation fee – 93700004 SSI Professional Registration & Initial Year
– 40 EURO net (physical materials – instructor package)
Renewal. Not valid for those who are already SSI PRO and have paid their dues for the year)

SSI FITC COMBO SSI FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR & SSI ADVANCED FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR
For those who meet the requirements, it is possible to participate in the FITCSSI FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR & SSI ADVANCED FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR COMBO program, which additionally entitles you to teach Advanced Freediver courses. The program lasts 1 additional day when combined with the FITC SSI FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR course.

Below is a list of additional and/or increased requirements for participation in the COMBO program.

Additional prerequisites:
Possession of an SSI Freediver certificate (or higher) or its equivalent from another SSI-recognized organization

Required freediving skills:
CWT dive to a depth of 40 m
(or CWT 30 m plus 3×25 meters with 1 minute rest breaks)

Diving to 20 meters with waiting for an unknown amount of time for a surfacing freediver,
then blackout rescue from that depth

Endurance test: 5 dives to 20 meters with 1 minute rest breaks
Blackout rescue from 20 meters with towing for 50 meters
Dynamics (in double fins) 85 meters
Statics: 4:00 minimum

Scuba diving is a recreational sport available to almost everyone.

If your health is in good shape, you most likely do not need permission from a doctor, but nevertheless in some special cases it may be necessary.

If you want to be sure, you can read the standard beforehand

PLAN OF THE DAY
  • Familiarize yourself with the training materials that we will make available to you through the MySSI app.

    Remember, the prerequisite for taking the practical classes is to pass the online theory part!

  • Fill out the Deepspot user statement and medical formonline.

    GO TO FORM
  • Arrive 30 minutes before the class start time and report to the front desk to complete the documents.

  • The first part of the course is a repetition of the knowledge gained from the training materials in the MySSI application.

    The instructor will discuss the most important topics.

    Don’t be afraid to ask him questions!

  • The second part of the course is practice:
    Briefing
    Presentation of exercises
    Diving

    Tell the instructor if you need repetition of exercises or if something is unclear.

    Your safety is most important to us!

  • If your schedule calls for another block of classes (second theory + second dive) you can rest for 20 minutes.

  • If the class is over make sure you understand what the next steps of the training are.

    Ask the instructor about the schedule or dates – stay in touch!
