Photo weekend at Deepspot January 17 – 18, 2026
We invite you to join us at the workshop – for interesting lectures and long Pole talks that will provide knowledge, energy and inspiration. And above all, for dives and photo workshops focused on working with light and model, in Europe’s deepest pool.
Why are people starting to photograph underwater?
Some say that out of boredom 😉 others that they have a poor memory, and still others that they collect their emotions this way. Each dive underwater is a trip into the unknown – into a world full of unusual inhabitants and details that are unique to the eye. Underwater photography is an extraordinary art that combines technology, patience, aesthetic sense and knowledge of the underwater environment. What remains invisible to most people becomes accessible to a wide range of people thanks to the lenses of underwater cameras. This type of photography requires the artist to be exceptionally skilled and to balance technical challenges – changing light, water movement, difficulty in focusing – with artistic vision. It is also an act of sensitivity and respect for nature. A good underwater photograph not only delights, but also educates and reminds us of the need to protect this fragile environment.
The important thing is that we want to grow in every field. Also in the area of underwater photography, where development and specialization are virtually unlimited!
Photo Weekend at Deepspot will make this possible for you.
Why attend an underwater photography workshop?
Because underwater photography is not just a technique – it’s the art of storytelling. It’s the perfect place to:
- develop a portfolio,
- gain experience in creative photography,
- Prepare for photo contests,
- get to know a team that has similar interests,
- Or simply start combining diving with a passion for photography.
What sets Deepspot’s photo workshops apart?
- Intimate atmosphere – small groups and individual approach.
- Practical classes in the water – sessions with models and various light sources.
- Professional equipment and expert support.
- Lectures on post-production, composition and trends in underwater photography.
- Networking and talking about equipment, inspiration and techniques for underwater photography.
You don’t have to be a professional – just that you like photography, have a diving degree and want to develop.
What will you learn during the Photo Weekend at Deepspot?
The lecture hall classes (Saturday) will feature inspiring meetings and talks with people who work every day for National Geographic, the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences or Aqua Film.
Jeremiusz Dutkiewicz will remind us why the best moment for a photo is always “now”, and Piotr Stós will show how the camera really sees underwater – without myths and simplifications.
The Aqua Film team will reveal the behind-the-scenes work in the underwater studio, and Tomasz Stachura will take us deep into the wreck of the Karlsruhe – a place that still hides secrets.
Piotr Balaza from the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences will show how science goes underwater, and Adam Sokólski will teach how a close-up can reveal a new world.
In the evening – traditionally – we will meet at the opening of the exhibition of underwater photography Deepspot 2026.
Then there will be time for conversations, plans for future joint expeditions and a little laughter at the table.
This is the moment when inspiration begins to take shape.
